What to do if your K1/K5 grinder gets jammed or blocked while grinding herbs?Updated 9 months ago
Hi KK Family,
If you find that the K1/K5 grinder is getting clogged or stuck during operation, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
👉 For the K1 Grinder:
1. Check if the Grinding Function is Normal
Open the grinding chamber, press the button, and observe if the grinding disc rotates normally. If it rotates normally, the grinding function is normal.
2. Check if there are Too Many or Large Pieces of Herbs
The maximum grinding capacity of the K1 is 1g, and the recommended optimal grinding weight is around 0.8g. We also suggest breaking large or hard-stemmed herbs into smaller pieces before loading them into the grinder. This can reduce the chance of clogging and improve grinding efficiency.
3. Check if the Battery is Low
When the battery is low, the current supplied to the motor may be insufficient, leading to reduced grinding power. In this case, charge the K1 fully before grinding.
👉 For the K5 Grinder:
1. Check if the Grinding Function is Normal
Open the grinding chamber, press the top button, and observe if the grinding disc rotates normally. If it rotates normally, the grinding function is normal.
2. Check if there are Too Many or Large Pieces of Herbs
The maximum grinding capacity of the K5 is 5g. Overloading it can lead to low grinding efficiency and increased chances of clogging.
We recommend the following methods to avoid blockage:
- Remove the Kief Catcher
- Dealing with Larger Pieces: If you notice solid chunks that don't grind well, this may be caused by the hard stems spinning and tangling together during the grinding process, forming lumps and causing blockages. Consider removing these stems before grinding to prevent them from clumping together during the grinding process.
- Consider Larger Grinder Disc: If necessary, you might want to consider using the largest grinder disc available, as it could provide a better grinding consistency for your needs.
3. Check if the Battery is Low
When the battery is low, the current supplied to the motor may be insufficient, leading to reduced grinding power. In this case, charge the K5 fully before grinding.
